Week-long camps, or "Art Workshops"

10:00-2:00    Monday-Friday    $150

(Summer schedule will be posted by February 15)
Week-long "Art Workshops" are our specialty.  A range of art mediums/techniques are explored to complete activities that revolve around a theme.  The kids are having fun, they keep busy, but yet the pace is relaxed, they are on vacation after all!  Children who attend should enjoy art and have a desire to be creative.  All skills levels are welcome.  Class sizes are limited to 8 and are appropriate for children currently attending or have attended Kindergarten through age 12 (unless otherwise noted.)    Kids bring a lunch and dress for mess!

Class Descriptions

First up, for the dolls:

"Trick or Treat"
Our American Girl dolls (or other 18" dolls) enjoy Halloween in their new costumes, while we paint a haunted house for them to go trick or treating to.  We will also sew a treat bag and create some "yummy" treats to go in it.

"Picnic in the Park"
Our American Girl dolls (or other 18" dolls) enjoy a sunny day with a picnic, a new dress,  and a portrait painting.

"Rock Star"
Back for an encore performance,  our 18" dolls rock out with new outfits, a guitar, a backdrop and pizza for the entire crew.

And now the rest:

"Fairylicious"
The return of a very popular workshop where we create a multi-media collage garden on canvas.

"Castles"
Medieval art and history come alive as we create a 3d castle for our Prince Beanie Baby, Webkinz in shining armour,  Queen Polly Pocket or any other use a creative mind might have.  Stained glass (faux), tapestries, illuminated letters and more will be explored.

"Dancing Dragons"
2012 is the Year of the Dragon in the Chinese calendar.   Kids born in the year 2000 are dragons!  We will begin the week by looking at dragons in general, dragons of the west were definitely a different breed than those of the east.  We will construct a 3-d model of one of our choosing, then the rest of the week we will focus more on the art of the Orient, including creating a dancing dragon puppet and painting with sumi ink and bamboo brushes.

"My Life as a Giant"
The kids become larger than life in this fun workshop where they construct a city consisting of a variety of styles of architecture then become the giant that roams within it.  Miniature toys such as Littlest Pet Shops, Hot Wheels and Polly Pockets could certainly enjoy being a part of this project when you are finished.  You will also create a giant-sized bag of your favorite snack because no giant should ever go hungry.  (It's actually a pillow.)

"Winter Wonderland"
Paint a winter scene with swirling snow ala Vincent van Gogh, sew a winter hat, and have fun with snowflakes.  Maybe it'll even snow this week!

"Who Me"
Back by special request, this popular workshop creates an altered book collage revolving around the most popular subject in a kid's mind - themselves!
